dear Oswald, Alenka and Gert
first of all in case of a contribution, I propose (non-negotiable) to involve Timen Olthof
who also participated in the Lorentz workshop, who will the be the first author
(and his requirement is to obtain an author copy of the book, in case we decide
to contribute.
and btw, Timen made an attempt to elaborate on the workshop process:
http://timenolthof.nl/2013/09/22/we-are-here-drawing-a-map-of-our-collaborative-thought-space/
but his efforts were not continued, unfortunately, so after all your initiative might
provide an opportunity!
Further, since we both have only limited time available, we would like (some) clarification on the following issues:
1) time track: we (that is Timen, who will be the first author) have only time
from beginning 2014, and our time is limited ... so what will be expected
of us, both in terms of contribution and cooperation with the other authors?
2) the theme: 'How did the convergence turn everyday life into a game?' is interesting,
but to our mind it seems (more) worthwhile to take a more critical perspective
and relate the theme (and application of serious games) to utopian thoughts
and discuss gamification as a means in "tuning human behavior" and influencing
what we may call a "space of choice", including ethical options, following our current interests ...
So in conclusion, no at this stahe no unconditional commitment, but an expression of
our interest, with a request for some further clarification that will alow us to decide
whether or not we will be able to participate.
for comments, or intermediary material(s) ...

Uniting the Virtual Workforce introduces the concept of Virtual Distance to show businesses the definite costs to doing work in a virtual environment. It then goes a step further and offers proven methods for measuring these costs and guidance on managing them.
