Isaac Cox, son of Abraham Cox, was born around 1804-05 in Greenville County, South Carolina and died September 11, 1888. His place of burial is unknown. In the 1840s, he moved to Cherokee County, Georgia, (in an area now near Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia). By 1850, according to census records, he owned land valued at $300. This is land along Cox Road, once part of Cherokee County, now in present-day Fulton County.
** His first wife was Amy ____. She was the mother of children 1-7.
** His second wife was Amanda Adams, born 1825. They married in Cherokee County, Georgia, on May 14, 1848. Child no. 8 is believed to be hers (he later shows up on census under a Adams relative’s household and there's also an "Edley Adams" which could be her brother and son's namesake). Amanda’s father or possibly brother was a Martin or Matthew, according to census records. Also note: There are Adamses all over the cemetery on Cox Road.
** His third wife was Elizabeth Morris (believed to be a widow when Isaac married her, with other children of her own). She was born around 1822 in South Carolina. She died January 6, 1892 and is buried at Union Baptist Church at 335 Cox Road, Roswell, Georgia. Children nos. 9-12 are hers.
