James Isaac Cox

James Isaac Cox, son of Samuel Cox, was born January 7, 1854, in Cherokee County, Georgia. He died March 12, 1931, and is buried at Briar Patch Church in Waleska, Cherokee County, Georgia.
Married first to Martha Emiline Cline, who was born January 26, 1856, died April 28, 1894, and buried in Briar Patch Church. She was the daughter of Michael Cline and Caroline Pittman Cline. James Isaac and Martha Emiline were married December 24, 1876, according to Georgia/Cherokee Co. Marriage Records, Book E, pg 316.
James Isaac’s second wife was Eva Foster, of whom we haven’t gathered much information yet.

April 10, 1931: In Memory: James Cox Died March 12Th At The Home Of His Son Following A Short Illness Of Pneumonia. He Was 77 Years Of Age And Leaves Two Sons And A Host Of Other Relatives And Friends To Mourn His Death. Written By His Granddaughter, Odessa Cox.
James Isaac and Martha Emiline's children were:
1. Samuel Marion Cox. Born September 23, 1877, in Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia. Died December 28, 1973, and buried at Briar Patch Church. Married Mary Isa Cline on March 20, 1898.
2. John Mitchell Cox. Born May 19, 1891, in Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia. Died January 28, 1971. Married Effie Susannah Kuykendall.
