CDR Jose H. Testa-Lindeman
SENIOR NAVAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR (SNSI)
Commander Testa was born in Panama City, Panama. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1982 as an Aviation Support Equipment Electrician and received his commission in 1986 after attending Officer Candidate School.
Commander Testa served in various ships including;
FF, FFG, DDG, DD, CG's and CVN's. Duties ranged from Damage Control Assistant, 1st Lieutenant, Combat Systems officer, Operations Officer and Senior Watch Officer.
Shore Tours include: Personnel Exchange Program Officer in Cartagena, Colombia, Naval War College, Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center Wilmington, DE. Commanding Officer, Operational Support Officer (OSO) at United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), OSO at United States Central Command and Special Forces Command in Homestead, Florida.
Commander Testa retired after 26 years of active duty service, and started his civilian career in 2009 as the Senior Naval Science Instructor at NJROTC unit established in Cooper City High School in South Florida during the same year. The unit was awarded Unit Achievement in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 and Distinguished Unit in 2017. In 2019, the unit received Distinguished Unit with Honors.
Commander Testa is married to Leydiana, whom he met in Cartagena, Colombia while stationed there as an Exchange Officer. The Testa's have two children, Natasha Paola, and Jose David.
Petty Officer Sloan
NAVAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR (NSI)
After finishing Basic Training in New Jersey in 1988 and the Aviation Structural Mechanic School in North Carolina in 1990, Petty Officer Sloan was employed in the U.S Coast Guard as a Coast Guard Aviation Maintenance Technician Supervisor. He was responsible for troubleshooting and performing maintenance as well as a flight engineer. Being a flight engineer involved numerous search and rescue, law enforcement and fishery missions flying over 1500 flight hours. He was responsible for daily maintenance on numerous aircraft, making sure everything is up to military standards and safety.
Petty Officer Sloan also attended the Aviation Airframe & amp; Power Plant School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in 1993 becoming an Aviation Structural Mechanic. This job included ground handling, servicing of aircraft, conducting routine aircraft inspections, and aviation administrative duties. Maintaining and repairing aircraft fuselage, wings, rotor blades, and making sure the control systems were working was part of Petty Officer Sloan's job.

(1991-1996), USCG Air Station Miami FL. (1996-1999), USCG Air Station Kodiak AK. (1999-2002), RUITOFF Atlanta GA. (2002-2005), USCGC Air Station Maimi FL. (2005-2008)
The Leadership and Management School in Miami, Florida and the Recruiting and Marketing School in Cape May, New Jersey, enabled Petty Officer Sloan to perform the role of a Coast Guard Recruit. He interviewed civilian personnel on matters concerning career opportunities, incentives, military rights, and benefits. Assisting and advising military commands, Petty Officer Sloan helped organize recruiting and retention programs. He determined which individuals would be suitable for the position into specific military occupation. Recruiting involves lecturing civic groups and social groups, military dependents, school officials and religious leaders dealing with military career opportunities.
