Sedro Wooley, Washington, USA

Returning this year is Queens Bluegrass, from Washington. This traditional bluegrass band has been playing in the Skagit Valley for over 27 years and been coming to Coombs for almost that long. Queens Bluegrass brings with them tight harmonies with traditional bluegrass coming from the heart of rural America. Ee haw! Welcome back Ernest & Queens Bluegrass.

Still Blue

Abbottsford, B. C.

Still Blue is new to Coombs, but they are bound to keep your toes tapping. Lots of energy from these folks. This band can be heard playing long after most have gone to bed...seems like they are just getting going. Welcome to Coombs Bluegrass. We pick day & night!

5 on a String

Vancouver B.C.

5 on a String from Vancouver, BC is another traditional bluegrass band that shares a lot of history with Coombs Bluegrass.

We just keep having to call them back. They bring high energy, excellent vocal harmonies & lots of pickin.

Years of playing together have made them a very tight band.

Clover Point Drifters

Victoria, B. C.

Here's a band that has been around for a long time, coming from the Victoria area. The Clover Point Drifters share a history with the Coombs Bluegrass Festival going way back to our first few festivals. These guys have superb vocal harmonies & excellent instrumentation, and have been known to step over the boundries of traditional stuff. Looking forward to hearing you play for us again.

Last Train

Victoria, B. C.

Returning again for another year is Last Train. Elena Yeung & Kootenay Mountain Special

Creston, B. C.

From fiery banjo picking to bone-chilling a cappella, Elena Yeung and Kootenay Mountain Special take listeners on a journey through heartbreak and wonder with songs and stories of the human condition, both past and present. Drawing from the old folk and mountain traditions, Elena's simple yet persistent melodies harken back to the old home place.

Corner Grass

Sidney-By-The-Sea, B. C.

Corner Grass is a relatively new band , although none of the members are new to bluegrass. From what we've heard so far, this band puts tradition in its place, not to mention some high lonesome as well. Mighty fine singing, and a very sweet fiddle, we are looking forward to hearing and seeing our new friends.

A band that never runs out of songs, make welcome Corner Grass!

Branch 11, Old Time Fiddlers

Coombs B. C.

The Old Time Fiddlers make up the biggest part of the old time fiddling agenda. They play a huge repetoire of familiar fiddle tunes and can be heard almost everywhere acoustic music is played. Can't wait to hear more. Some of the originals have never missed a festival yet!

Skagway

Nanaimo, B. C.

Returning to Coombs Bluegrass is Skagway. Bringing lots of young energy to the stage, they arrive complete with their own audience. Mixing traditional bluegrass and newgrass

together, they have created their own sound.

An act not to be missed, there's some hot pickin comin from this band.

Yodelling Lynda Krauza & Friends

Kelowna, B. C.

Last summer in our travels we met a lady who could yodel, not to mention sing, and she yodelled her way right into our hearts. Please welcome to Coombs Bluegrass for the first time, Lynda Krauza and Friends.

Flash In The Pan

Victoria, B. C.

Original songwriting, as well as classic bluegrass and old time influences, characterize their sound. On top of all that, these guys can sing! The band lineup should be familiar to most members of the Victoria bluegrass scene. It includes Miriam Sonstenes (fiddle), Cluny Macpherson (banjo), Kelly Sherwin (bass), and Jeff Dill (guitar).
