The Best Story: An Introduction to Writing a Memoir Grades 5-8
How does one go about turning the reality of life into an art form? Through in-class discussion and writing exercises, students will practice their storytelling skills and begin to draft a memoir. Class discussions will include plot and character development, creating plausible dialogue, and creation of a story arc. We will study excerpts by several contemporary memoirists and encourage one another to practice as writers.
