Vinegar Girl by Anne Tyler

Are you looking for a cute romance to take to the beach with you? This is the book to take with you.

Kate Battista is a young woman who speaks her mind, and while she is searching for a career and future, she is living at home with her eccentric family and working at a pre-school (not a good place to work if you speak your mind!). Her father’s research assistant’s visa is about to expire. In an effort to keep him in America, Kate is asked to marry him. Awkward, humorous events unfold.

Many people are picking up this book because it is a re-telling of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. I don't recommend this for Shakespeare scholars. This is a cute, simplified version of the story. If you're looking for a nice addition to your beach tote, pick this one up; it will make your day a little sunnier!

I received this book from Blogging for Books for review.
