The Gap of Time by Jeanette Winterson

4/5 stars

I love the plays of William Shakespeare, and I have enjoyed the Hogarth Shakespeare books put out this year. The Gap of Time (a re-telling of The Winter's Tale) is my second in the re-tellings. Leo is a jealous and insecure man, and there are two shocking things he does in this book. Generally, I stay away from the graphic, and I almost put the book down (without finishing). I kept going, though, since I was hoping there was a change in character. I am glad I did as the second half of this book is beautiful and forgives his atrocious behavior. By that I mean, I am highly recommending this book! After reading The Gap of Time, I can't wait to get my hands on the next Hogarth Shakespeare. Their re-tellings are quality works- and fun reads!

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
