The person above living in Australia makes me laugh...there are over 30 US military/naval bases in australia...so they think they're safe? heh heh...

Oh well, the spread of radioactive fallout in a full-scale nuclear exchange will cause a worldwide nuclear winter....sorry.

There will be survivors, those in deep shelter who are away from direct hits, but the question for them is how much food and water did they stock up on...will it outlast the nuclear winter above ground?
