About the Program
Presentation Software Applications prepares students for careers in business. The course sequence focuses on duties and tasks performed by professionals using presentation software as well as pre-employment and employment skills.
Major Concepts/Content: Presentations Software Applications provides students with the opportunity to develop professional level skills in presentations software. Skills include creating and formatting presentations, creating and formatting slide content, working with visual content, collaborating on and delivering presentations.
Major Instructional Activities: Instruction will be provided in a lab utilizing individualized instruction and electronic learning services. Students successfully completing this course will be eligible to take the specialist exams for presentation software certification.
Major Evaluative Techniques: Assessment will be accomplished by checking student work in progress to ensure that each student adheres to the timelines throughout the course and that the assignments are successfully completed. In addition, objective and problem-solving tests, projects and other means deemed appropriate by the facilitator will be used.
Essential Software: The focus of this course will be the use of Microsoft PowerPoint to produce a variety of presentations.

My philosophy is that every student can learn and succeed through hard work and diligence.
All courses are modular, computer-based, & self-paced. All work required for said courses can be done in class or from home. Word Processing Software Applications can also be accessed via the following link: Element K Log In
For this class students will be using Microsoft Word 2003/2007. There is no textbook for this course. They will be using online learning sources such as Atomic Learning and Element K. There will also be small group collaboration project, individual projects, towards the end of the first Semester students will begin preliminary testing. If students score 85% or better, they will have the opportunity to take the Microsoft Certification test. The cost is covered by DoDEA for students who are eligible.
As part of the course, students are exposed to Career Development activities as well as Teamwork concepts and activities. Credit will be given for assignments that will contribute to the overall grade in the course.

90-100 = A
08-89 = B
70-79 = C
60 – 69 = D
59 or Below = F
