Roster and Stats
Back during the days of World War II, Sylvester R "Sal" Hall started his coaching tenure at Cardozo High School and began establishing records so remarkable that they no doubt place him high among the top of America's all-time high school coaching greats.
While at the Nineth Street and Rhode Island Avenue N.W. school Sal's football teams set records that may never be matched. From 1942 to 1948 Cardozo completed seven consecutive unbeaten seasons. The Clerks were undefeated in 58 consecutive games, the longest streak in the history of Washington area football and one of the longest in U.S. scholastic history. In 1948, the final year of the dynasty, Cardozo accomplished the ultimate- an undefeated, untied and unscored-upon season
