1. Sal Hall was named one of ten outstanding citizens in Washington D.C., by the Afro American Newspaper 1947.

2. Named track coach of the year by Jimmy Powers in his column of "Powerhouse", New York News 1947. Also by the Pittsburg Courier in 1946. By local newspapers 1944, 1945,1946 and 1947. The phenominal championship records in track and field are described in Dr. Edwin B. Henderson's book, The Negro In Sports, pages 318, 319, and 320. Included is a picture of the 1947-48 team and its coach. This book was published in 1949.

3. Voted High School Football Coach of the Year by the Pigskin Club of Washington D.C. 1947, 1948, and 1954

4. Named College Coach of the Year by the Pigskin Club 1952.

**Inducted into the C.I.A.A. Officials Hall of Fame, February 23, 1980

**Inducted into the Virginia State University's Athletic Hall of Fame, November 14, 1980

**Inducted into the Cardoza High School Swimming team's Hall of Fame, January 22, 1986

**Received the Elder W. Diggs Award Kappa Alpha Psi's second highest award in 1983**He was also a members of the "Hellians Club" which is composed only of members of Kappa Alpha Psi** Sal was also a 33rd Degree Mason at the time of his demise August 26, 1988.**
