Since many of you will want to take advantage of the full cruise experience, we would like to suggest some non-group activities to do individually or as a group. Some of these activities may be added to the schedule (TBD), however, any listed times are only estimates based on previous cruises. Since the cruise line releases the shipboard schedule on a day-to-day basis, we have no way of knowing the exact date or time of activities until we get onboard. Please use our tentative schedule as a general guide and we will give updates if there are any changes once we get onboard.
Excursions:
Port of Progreso:
We are working on arranging a private excursion to the ruins of Chichen Itzá. We will post the information here as well as by email once we have all the details. This is a must-see excursion for the region!
Isla Cozumel:
We don't have plans for a group excursion yet, but there are many wonderful options on this small island:
For sun worshipers: There are several beach resorts that offer day passes, including Playa Miá, Chankanaab Park, and Mr. Sanchos. Paradise Island is also reported to be of high quality, but we have not been there.
Snorkeling, Snuba, and Scuba diving options are offered through the cruise line and at Chankanaab Park (inside the National Marine Park. Chankanaab Park also offers eco-tours, shows, and a swim-with-dolphins program.
Museums and Culture: We have enjoyed Discover Mexico Park, which offers programs on traditional cooking and crafts from the area (the one on chocolate is wonderful!) and exhibits of folk and fine art from the region, as well as a walk-through display detailing scale model replicas of early Prehispanic, Colonial, and Modern architecture. Museo de la Isla de Cozumel is the official museum of Cozumel. We have not visited this museum yet, but it offers programs and exhibits on the history of the island.
Shopping: You can take either a guided shopping tour offered by the cruise line, or take off on your own on foot or by taxi. Duty-free shopping is available right at the pier if you don't feel like exploring.
Suggested onboard group activities include:
Formal Night Portraits
Group Photo
Disco Night
Karaoke
Deck Party
