Crafting and Scrapbooking Info
We work continuously to ensure that your onboard scrapbooking experience is the best it can possibly be. Due to the unique nature of our scrapbooking and crafting cruises, some special arrangements and considerations are required. The information provided below is standard for craft and scrapbooking groups sponsored by Crafty Neighbor. Groups sponsored by another organization may have different policies. Check the Activities page for your cruise for details.
Craft/Meeting Area
All group crafting activities will take place in a designated area as set by the cruise line. We will make every effort to ensure as much quality scrapbooking and crafting time as possible, and on some cruise lines we have 24/7 access to suitable meeting space, however, please understand that all meeting places and times are at the discretion of the cruise line and may change without notice. Craft room and class schedules will be announced prior to sailing.
Classes
Class schedules and descriptions will be announced prior to sailing for each cruise, along with any associated fees for supplies. See the Activities page for your specific cruise for information about classes and workshops.
Make-n-Takes
We generally offer several make-n-take opportunities free of charge on each cruise. Information about the availability and schedules of specific make-n-takes will be provided in either your goodie bags and/or informational packets.
Swaps
We love swaps! Do you? Information about available swaps will be provided prior to the cruise on the Activities page for your specific cruise.
Goodie Bags
Participants in our Crafty Neighbor-sponsored cruises will receive a goodie bag from Crafty Neighbor as well as several other "surprises" throughout the cruise. Goodie bags will be distributed on the first night of the cruise during our Meet and Greet at 7:00pm unless otherwise noted.
Tools and Supplies
Due to security measures instated by both the cruise line and Homeland Security, there are restrictions on what tools and implements we can bring onboard. Please observe the following guidelines. Failure to do so may cause your supplies to be confiscated at the port prior to boarding.
Please read all emails and check the approved supply list before packing for your cruise.
Check the class supply list for your cruise for a complete listing of supplies needed for each class.
We suggest that you pre-plan scrapbook pages and other projects and make a list of the supplies you will need to work on these projects.
We advise that you bring only what you need.
We also recommend that you partner with your cabin-mate and other passengers to share certain large/bulky items.
All of your tools and supplies will need to be checked, with the following exceptions -- you MUST carry on any electronic die cutting machines (ex.: Cricut, Silhouette, Pazzles, etc.), you may opt to carry on your Copic Markers in your carryon luggage, and we do advise that you put your photos in your carry-on luggage.
Be sure to attach a baggage tag AND a Crafty Neighbor scrapbook tag (found on the Resource page) to each one of your scrapbooking totes.
We suggest using a rolling tote such as a Crop-N-Style XXL or other rolling bag since you will need to cart your supplies from your cabin to the crop areas while onboard -- you may not be able to leave your supplies in the crop area.
Please notify us if you plan to bring any of the following equipment so that we can alert the cruise line: OTT Lite (or other personal light), iron, sewing machine, Cricut (or other electronic die cutting machine), heat embossing gun, a laptop (if you will be using it in the crop room), or any other electrical/electronic tools and equipment. [Note: we do not need a list of your curling irons and blow dryers]
Tools which generate heat, such as irons and heat embossing tools, are technically prohibited by the cruise line, therefore we must request special permission for these items. Please let us know if you will be bringing them onboard.
WiFi is available onboard at an extra fee. It can be quite expensive, so plan your digital scrapbooking needs carefully.
Bring a cutting mat for your workspace.
Bring lots of adhesives!
You may carry one paper piercer and one X-acto knife per person.
Scissors CAN NOT have blades longer than 4".
Check this list often for changes and updates.
