Chisago Lakes won both the boys and girls races last night at Wild Mountain. Chisago girls had five in the top 10 -- Cierra Karels from Cambridge/Isanti took first place followed by Hannah Janzig 2nd, Hannah Stec 3rd, others scoring on the team were Megan Cartier 6th, Alicia Sandberg 8th, Bailey LeTourneau 9th, Sophie Janzig 12th, and Kaylee Peterson 23rd.
The boys took the three top spots -- Jamie Mower 1st, Ryan Mower 2nd, August Brown 3rd; others scoring on the team were Sam Witucki 12th, Luther Crum 18th, Will Nelson 27th, and Zach Hennen 33rd.
Chisago has depth like no other team in our conference. If one of our top racers has a problem with a run there is another racer capable of scoring high for us. Attached are the results -- you can see that some of our usual top ten racers had a problem in one of their runs. It happens - ski racing is a tough sport. Racers deal with many varying factors-- snow conditions, temperature, course set, equipment failure, volunteers. Racers have to focus to ski their fastest and cleanest race.
We have our last conference race at Trollhaugen next Thursday.
Keep supporting your racer and the team - they work hard at a tough sport.
