IEEE 802.11™ is one of the IEEE standards for Wi-Fi. It creates a framework that enables a wide variety of devices from different vendors to communicate with one another. This standardized interoperability allows people to use their favorite devices and applications, such as FaceTime or Skype, with any Wi-Fi access point.
GPIO - General Purpose Input Output: A primary difference between a single board computer and your PC or phone is the intended purpose, as identified by the input and output ports. For your PC and phone, the I/Os are very specific. They can only connect to intended things such as a headphone or speakers. Single Board Computers, SBC's, are part of the Internet of Things movement and are designed to be connected to almost anything via the GPIOs. Be sure to include the GPIOs with your other I/O ports for the Pi Zero W, in order to get full credit for this assignment.
