One of the things you need to spend time on during Lab Work this week is the Objective Statement of your resume. This will take some soul searching, some internet searching, and some reading. It is a good time to introduce internet search strategies. One way to fill your brain with inspiration is to read Mission Statements from people or companies. While Google will always try to spoon feed you, it is what I call the spaghetti on the wall strategy. That is, you throw some spaghetti at the wall and if something sticks, you are having a good day.
To search for mission statements, it is best to put it in quotes "mission statement". You would then follow with a profession that you are interested in. We are looking for something short and inspiring that states what you want to do for other people. Going through this exercise will require you to think and should help firm up your career choice. You will need to know what people in your chosen profession actually accomplish. People who read your resume will spend very little time on it, unless you can grab their attention from the beginning.
The first part of your objective statement will include "to complete the following degrees";
The second part is a brief and powerful statement of how you intend to serve others.
