When The TV Channel first started, we had a programming block on Saturday nights dedicated to feature-length films known as either The TV Channel's Cartoon Theater or The TV Channel's Real Theater. Which were stupid names, so we scrapped those in 2007 and changed the names to a single name, The TV Channel's Small-Screen Cinema. Which just rolls off the tongue a lot better! However, within a year, Small-Screen Cinema went off the air as a weekly segment and instead would only appear on special occasions, such as Spirit World Day and Halloween.
Well, a couple months ago, we announced that Small-Screen Cinema would be returning to Saturday nights every week! And that day has finally arrived, folks! To kick it off, we will be presenting Olivia the Spy, a mainstay of Small-Screen Cinema and one of the most classic Sparkle Entertainment films of all time! In case you've been living under a rock for the past nearly-twelve years, here's what the film is about:
This cult-classic, smash-hit film went on to begin an epic fifteen-film series (and subsequent five-season television series) starring Alyssa Bangela in her second major role (Olivia Branco) and Justin Cal (Eric Branco). An architectural genius's stone fortress on a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean carries a secret: it is connected to the architect's buried body, and if the fortress is destroyed, so is the body. The catch? The architect's final blueprint, which contains directions to build a weapons defense system that was designed specifically for a vigilante organization, is in the casket, too. The CIA has discovered this secret, and the vigilantes know it, so they send in an operative to destroy the fortress. In addition, they kidnap one of the CIA's best agents, Eric Branco. But the vigilantes didn't count on Branco having a sister who would do anything to get her brother back, even if it meant becoming an agent herself and risking her life in her very first mission. They didn't count on the rise of Olivia the spy!
Don't miss it! It starts at 9 PM EDT (and will last until about 11 PM)!
The TV Channel's Small-Screen Cinema presents Olivia the Spy, tonight at 9/8c, only on The TV Channel. Olivia the Spy is rated PG for some action violence.
