Health Education is taught at the CGS for grades K-8. Health class is based on the skills-based approach. Each lesson will be constructed by pairing content with a skill, such as goal-setting, advocacy, etc. These skills are the focus point- learning how to use these skills in every day life is the goal. Skills-based health is the most effective approach to change behavior, and to therefore be healthy and successful. An example of a unit would be learning hygiene and puberty (content) and learning also how to set goals and improve hygiene.
