0-6-0 and 0-8-0 Switching Locomotives
Class 0-9-a 0-6-0 Type
The only Central Vermont Railway 0-6-0 switchers were three locomotives originally numbered 1215-1217 and renumbered 387-389. They were built by the Lima Locomotive works in 1912. Two were scrapped in 1952 and one in 1954.

Class P-1-a 0-8-0 Type
The only Central Vermont Railway 0-8-0 switchers were eight built by the American Locomotive Company at its Schenectady Works in 1923 numbered 500 to 507. Four (502-503 and 505-506) were sent to the Canadian National in 1942 in exchange for three diesel locomotives. One of the remaining engines was scrapped in 1956 and three in 1959.
