Plants are highly important as producers in food chains and food webs. Common traits of species used in the classification include the multicellular structure, presence of cellulose in cell walls and the ability of the plants to photosynthesise due to the presence of coloured pigments.
As many as 11 divisions of plant species are present. In this lesson, we shall focus on three divisions, namely the bryophytes, pterophytes and anthophyta.
