PLEASE clear all ditches and culverts. Some properties are clearing only part of their ditch area.
If you have a corner property it is your responsibility to take care of ALL the road ditches.
The water needs to flow freely so there is not a negative impact to our roads system, or other neighbor's properties.
Vegetative growth next to the roadways was identified as an issue at the annual meeting this year.
There are some properties where alders/maples/firs or other trees were growing in the ditch or road shoulder.
Excessive blackberries and other brush growing on the shoulder also force pedestrians onto the roadway which can cause public safety hazards, especially as the daylight lessens.
A standard rule of thumb is to clear the shoulders/ditches to 10 feet from the roadway.
Please be sensitive to people working along the roadside by recognizing the posted speed limit
A reminder that there are many deer roaming this time of year, and if an animal is hit, it is the driver's responsibility, at their expense, to have the deer removed.
