The Cayuga Windsurfing Club was formed by a handful of enthusiasts in an effort to rejuvenate the sport of windsurfing on Cayuga Lake in Tompkins County, NY. With the generous help from Cornell University and The Merrill Family Sailing Center at East Shore, as well as some equipment donations from various individuals, we intend to create a fun environment for learning windsurfing skills and a community of long lasting friendships for people with a common interests and goals in the sport of windsurfing.
Windsurfing has a long tradition in Ithaca and the East Shore Sailing Center (now the Merrill Family Sailing Center) has been home to local windsurfers for over three decades. Legend has it that at one point a hundred windsurfing sails could be seen on the Finger Lake's biggest lake. With over 350 members on our email list, we invite you to join us and create another legend, while you enjoy the beauty of the lake and wind.
The Cayuga Windsurfing Club is an official Cornell Student Organization. However, we welcome all members 18 and older, both from the Cornell community and the local community.
