CasualMultiPConc Word Count

Word Count is CasualMultiPConc is very simple. It is not designed for full analysis. Rather, it is for a simple comparison of corpora.

Making Word Lists

At this moment, Word Count does not have many functions. The main feature is making word lists for corpora.

    1. Click Count Words to create word lists for corpora.

    1. If you select word(s) on the table, information of a selected word(s) will be shown at the bottom. The information includes the word(s), index (kind of nth), and the frequency of the selected words. If more than one word is selected, the frequency will be the total.

Searching word(s) in Concord/Multi Concord

You can search selected word(s) in Concord/Multi Concord.

    1. Select word(s) on tables and right click a selected word. Choose either Search in Concord or Search in Multi Concord.

    1. In Concord, the selected word(s) will be the search word. If more than one word is selected, all the words will be searched.

    2. In Multi Concord, you can simple select one word and search the word, but you can do more.

    3. Select word(s) on each table and right click one of the words on one of the tables. Then right-click any of the selected words and run Multi Concord. All the words will be searched.

Applying stop words/skip characters

If you make stop words/skip character lists, you can apply them in Preferences.

The following are the examples of application.

Skip characters

Japanese: 、。

As you can see, stop words do not affect the total frequency, but skip characters do. This is because stop characters are excluded after counting, but skip characters are deleted before counting.
