CasualMultiPConc Text Aligner

Text Aligner is a tool to check/edit matching of the two or more corpus text files and add them to file list tables or a database.

To use Aligner, go to Menu -> Tool -> Text Aligner.

Checking text alignment of separate corpus files

If you have parallel corpus files for each language, etc.,

• 1. Open a file to a text box by clicking an associated Open button. You can specify a text encoding of the file.

• 1. Once you open the matched files, click Match/Refresh List button.

• 1. You can check the match in the match table and if you find any mismatch, you can edit the text in the text box and click Match/Refresh button to make the changes reflected on the table.. If you want to save the change you made to a text file, you can save it by clicking Save button (this is only available for plain text files).

  2. Once you are sure the text files are aligned, click Add to List/Database button to add the matched files to file list tables (File Mode) a current database (Database Mode).

• 1. If you want to start with new files, you can click Clear to erase everything on the window.

Checking text alignment of a single aligned text file

If you have a single aligned text file (see this page),

• 1. Check Single.

• 1. Click Open to open an aligned text file in the first text box (Corpus 1 or whatever the name for your Corpus 1).

• 1. Once you open the file, click Match/Refresh List button.

• 1. The parsed test will appear on the table.

• 1. Once you are sure the texts are aligned, click Add to List/Database button to add the matched files to file list tables (File Mode) a current database (Database Mode).
