Independent Left/Right Context Span

You can specify span of kwic context independently for the left and the right contexts.

So if you want to see the context after a keyword, it is possible.

Wider Sort Context

With the version 1.0, you can only select sort words up to 5 words to the right and left of a keyword. With the next version, you can select up to 10 words.

This process takes a little more processing time, so this is optional. Check Wider Context in Preferences -> Concord to enable this feature.

When this is on, you can select L10 ~ R10 as a sort word.

Context Phrase

You can a select phrase as a context word. Go to Preferences -> Concord -> Context Words and select Words and Phrases.

If you combine wider context and context phrase search, a search like this is possible:

Excluding KWIC lines with specified word(s)/phrase(s)

You can now specify word(s)/phrase(s) to eliminate KIWC lines that include them in the context.

Go to Preferences -> Concord -> Context Words and check Exclude.

If you exclude 'the' within L5 ~ L5, you will have a result like this:

Select text in the context view and right-click -> Search in Concord.

More font choices

You can select more fonts to display Concord KWIC result. By default, you can only select Courier or Courier New.

To add other fonts, go to Preferences -> KWIC Result Display and click Manage.

The Font Manager appears. Select a font from the Pop-up Menu and click Add. To remove a font from the table, select one and click Remove.

The added font appears as a choice.

Copy-pasting KWIC result text

With the version 1.0, you can copy selected KWIC result lines. With the new version, you can decide if you want to keep the font info of the result.

To enable this feature, go to Preferences -> Concord -> Results and check Keep text style when copying the results.

The pasted text will look like this:

You can also add Tab when you export/copy KWIC result.

To enable this feature, go to Preferences -> Concord -> Export and check Insert Tab before/after Keyword.

If you export the result, it will look like this:

If you copy/paste the result with keeping text style and inserting tab, the result will look like this:

Exporting KWIC result text

Exporting KWIC result text is also enhanced.

Now you can save the result as a Rich Text Format file.

If you select Rich Text Format, you can select if you want to keep Font Information (colors of sort words) and File Info (file names).

If you check Keep Font Information, the exported RTF text will look like the copy-pasted text with text styles (see above).

Editing the original text

You can edit a original text file on CasualConc or with a specified application or an database entry on CasualConc.

To enable this feature, go to Preferences -> Files -> Original File/Database Handling and check Allow editing of original file to enable the file editing feature and Allow editing of database file to enable the database editing feature.

You can select if you want to enable this feature Only in File Mode or In Both Modes.

Right click a KWIC result line on the table.

In File Mode:

If you select Open Displayed Text, you can edit an original text file (.txt only) on CasualConc.

If you select Open Displayed Text with Application, the original text file will open with a specified application.

In Database Mode:

If you select Open Displayed Text with Application, the original text file will open with a specified application.

If you select Edit Database Entry of the Selected Line, you can edit an entry on CasualConc.
