When collecting evidence on assessment I used various strategies of doing this. I used informal, formal, diagnostic, formative and summative approaches to assess student learning. To understand where the students were at in their learning, i would develop questions and get students to answer them, this allowed me to gage how developed in that area the students were. I created formative and summative assessments for the students that showed me their continual progress. By having a variety of assessment criteria’s, it allows for the most accurate representation of the students’ progress.
I provided a multitude of feedback on each individual assignment, whether that be formative or summative. With the oral presentations I provided immediate verbal feedback, as well as giving them written feedback on google classroom. On every other piece of assessment i provided detailed written feedback and then verbal if the students wanted to discuss it further.
My consistent and comparable judgements were constantly referred back to the learning standards of that year level. All the grades I gave were double checked by my mentor to ensure they were valid and reliable. Student’s work was compared to one another to ensure that the grade given was accurate and appropriate in comparison to the entire class.
To gage where the students are at with their level of knowledge it is imperative to look at student data. I looked at previous work the students did in order to develop an understanding of the student’s abilities.
