Scout Positions of Responsibility
Senior Patrol Leader (SPL): Lead Scout in charge.
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader(s) (ASPL): Assists the Senior Patrol Leader.
Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leaders: Responsible for leading a patrol.
Librarian: Maintains the troop library of books, pamphlets, and merit badge books.
Quartermaster: Responsible for troop equipment.
Troop Guide: Guides young scouts when they join the troop.
Historian/Scribe: Documents troop's accomplishments.
Den Chief: Works with Cub Scout Pack 325 or other Pack dens and assists with meetings and events.
Webmaster: Maintains the troop website.
Chaplain’s Aide: Performs prayers at select meetings and Court of Honor events.
Bugler: Plays the bugle during flags and other ceremonies.
Adult Leadership: The Troop Committee has five important positions, but there can be any number of members. Job descriptions are posted below and the current people in those posiostion can be found here.
Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster
Officially, the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster report to the Committee; they are not voting Committee members. In the scouts' eyes the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster are in charge. The Scoutmaster is the adult leader responsible for the troop's image and program. The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters work closely with and advise the youth leaders.
Committee Chairperson guides the other members and organizes the meetings.
Advancement Chairperson oversees the scouts' rank advancement, adult BSA training database and Troop roster, and organizes Scout Board of Reviews.
Outdoor Program Chairperson is in charge of developing and helping implement the troop outdoor program, supervising Event Coaches for outings and tracking troop equipment with the Quartermaster.
Treasurer is in charge of maintaining Troop accounts and controlling the flow of funds
Communications Chair handles minutes from the monthly parent meetings, communicates via email and oversees the Troop Webmaster and website.
Recruitment Chair commucates with the local Packs and community to encourage new membership. Can also officially provide information and welcome new scouts and families to the troop.
Training Chair works with adults and scouts to ensure training is completed and tracked by the Advancement Chair.
