Camp Parsons (2023)
Recap
An event recap has not been provided yet. Once the Historian has finished they're recap it will be posted here. Thank you for your patience.
Overview
Please decide merit badges you want to do by the end of June. Some of the activities are by lottery only, so it’s important to know what you want to do so we can get you signed up.
What to Bring:
Money for the Edmonds-Kingston ferry ride fare.
Sack lunch (the ferry cafeteria will most likely not be open).
Completed Annual Health and Medical Record.
A complete pack (ten esentials, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, pen/pencil and paper).
You will NEED your Scoutbook so be sure to bring it.
Any other items needed for the merit badges you're working on.
For more extensive information please read Mr. Buck's 2023 Summer Camp letter.
REQUIRED PAPERWORK: All campers need to have complete and current forms for the Troop’s 3-Ring Binder before camp:
FORM A-B-C: A doctor needs to complete a physical examination for each camper and sign this form. Adults must co-sign the form as well (informed consent authorization and release)
COVID 19 WAIVER: Please print and sign this form and submit it to the Troop 325 binder.
Proof of Insurance: Take a picture of the front and back of your insurance card; print it out and submit it to the binder.
THE ATV WAIVER: Please sign this form and submit it to the binder if you’d like your Scout to be able to ride All-Terrain-Vehicles. While we don’t have exact details yet about age requirements or availability of ATV’s (possibly a lottery?). We will keep you posted when we know more.
YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING: Parent Campers must complete the online Youth Protection Training. Adult campers should print out their certificate of completion for YPT and submit it to the Troop’s binder.
MORE INFORMATION: Camp Parson’s has much more information which may be found at this link. More information to follow about zoom meetings from the Chief Seattle Council; Troop 325 will have an orientation over the coming months, too.
Special Activities
This year Camp Parsons is offering ATV as an activty, although there are some important things to note: You must be at least 14 and there are limited spots so they will use a lottery to determine who gets to use the ATVs.
Below there are the links to the Merit Badge Schedule, the Merit Badge Descriptions, and the Daily Schedule. When choosing merit badges, make sure it works out with both schedules. Also take a look at any prerequisites needed as some badges like Cooking require you to bring everything you need to cook as the camp will not provide you with any resources for cooking.
If your family would like to send packages or letters to us while we are at camp please tell them to mail them by Wednesday so that they arive by Saturday. Mail must have the following format on the destination area:
Camp Parsons
Scout (Scout's Name)
Troop 325
970 Bee Mill Road

Addtionally, Scouts will be required to leave all electronic devices locked in the cars including their phones. They will be able to use them on the car ride to and from camp.
