Quick Fixes
Everyone wants to hit each shot perfectly, so
here are some quick fixes
for problem situations between tee and
green. Enjoy!
Ball lies above feet? Take one more club and choke down on it.
Weak tee shot? Imagine a ball one foot in front of the real ball. Try to hit both balls.
Coming over the top? Complete shoulder turn. Feel lower body shift left before you swing
down and through the ball.
Losing power? Lighten your grip. This gives you a freer release.
Grass in rough lies toward the hole? Expect the ball to fly, so use one less club.
Under a tree? Grip the club firmly and play the ball back in your stance.
Downhill lie? Put more weight on your forward foot and play the ball back in your stance. Swing down the slope.
Chips are topped or hit fat? Use an open stance with weight on your forward foot. Lead through the ball with your left hand.
Topping the ball? Make a full, smooth backswing and keep your eye on the back of the ball.
Leaving putts short? Judge the distance from the side of the putt rather than behind the ball.
