1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup oil (or a little less)
1 cup milk
grill: 275 - 300 (no grease if non-stick, light oil if standard grill) 4 minutes per waffle
makes enough for 2-3 adults
mix dry ingredients. gently scramble egg with oil, then add milk. pour dry on wet and stop stirring when it's still a bit lumpy.
variations:
- use whole wheat flour (1/2 whole wheat, 1/2 white; or 1 whole wheat)
- more crisco on the grill for crispier waffles
- cut it in half for two people (yep, use 1/2 of a scrambled egg!)
