This new women's team competition has been named in honor of Bella Vista's own golf pioneer Dolores Bowlin. Dolores has lived within a 40 mile radius of Bella Vista all her life. She was a charter member of the WGC back in 1969. Amongst her many accomplishments in the golf world are the following in her own words.

- Northwest Arkansas Representative to the AWGA from the beginning in 1969 to 2000.

- Handicap Chair in the beginning when handicaps were figured BY HAND.

- POA Golf Committee 1973-75 (the men on the Board, at that time, suggested that our courses be run like country clubs from which they had come, i.e. the women should not BE ALLOWED on the courses until the afternoon. Didn't happen - talked them out of it. But a lot of good things did come from those meetings.)

- Several awards over the years. Never club champion, but runner up several times.

- BVWGC Net Champion late 90's (can't remember the year) and 2009

- BVWGC Senior Champ 2006 and 2009

- WGC Hall of Fame 2012 Inductee

It is a privilege to name this tournament in her honor for all she has done for Bella Vista women's golf. Thank you!!!
