The TIM (Together In Mission) group continues to meet monthly to work on finding ways for the four Lutheran churches in Jamestown to shape the direction of the Lutheran Community in Jamestown. It is our goal to find ways that we might work together to strengthen our presence in Jamestown.
In November, the members visited each of the four churches in order to carefully evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each site. This allowed us to take a more intense and unbiased look at the four properties.
The congregation at Bethel has just completed a survey of their members to determine what direction they wish to go.
Tree of Life Parish (Immanuel and Holy Trinity) are in the process of seeking legal counsel on how potential consolidation would impact their endowments and other issues.
The representatives of all four churches are putting together a list of the top five missions and ministries, currently in place at their respective churches, that they would want to be a part of a consolidated Lutheran Community. They are also looking at what new missions could be a reality in a larger consolidated Lutheran Community.
