Dear Bethel Members,
The Council wishes you a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy time with your family and loved ones during this holiday season. It is a time when we reflect upon God’s tremendous gift to us all in the birth of His Son Jesus Christ, so that we all may have eternal life with Him. The scope of His gift is beyond my comprehension. Thank God for a childlike faith. The Angel and Mitten Trees, white gifts, caroling, and distributed food demonstrate our Bethel Family’s care and concern for others in our community. May God continue to bless us all.
I know that many of you are interested in the results of the survey distributed in November. We had 60 responses from our members and I have summarized some of the data below for your review.
The Council will be reviewing the results more completely on December 15 immediately after church. We hope you will be able to stay for a more in-depth view of the data. The Council thanks you for your input. We had many insightful comments, which the Council will find very helpful as we move forward.
I received a letter from Philadelphia Insurance Companies denying our claim for the water damage to the interior of the education building. The reason given for the denial was that there was no visible damage to the roof as a result of the storm and the leakage was a maintenance issue. The Council will be meeting with Rhoe B. Henderson and Paramount Roofing to explore other options. In the meantime, members will be working to remove the ceiling tiles and the wet insulation before more damage can occur. Thank you to those who volunteered to help with the messy job.
When Sunday School resumes in January, instruction and activities will begin at 9:00 am. The Christian Ed. volunteers felt that the 9:15 time was not adequate to complete the planned activities. If you would like to help with Session 2, please contact Chris Prinzi, Diane Foti or Tom Nelson.
We will be installing new Council members in January 2014. If you are interested in serving on the Church Council, please let Pastor Alan or a Council member know. May God bless and watch over you and your loved ones, especially those who are traveling, during this wonderful season on the Christian calendar.
Respectfully yours,
Gregg Davis- President
