How to Hold BHSA Sanctioned Horse Shows:
*BHSA horse shows must be geographically located 80 miles or less from the center of Fredericksburg, VA
and be within the boundaries of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Radius is based on air miles.
1. READ THE RULES.
2. Review these guidelines: Are you Ready to hold a BHSA sanctioned horse show?
3. Create your prize list. We've created a helpful template to make this easier.
4. Join BHSA. All Show Managers must be current members.
5. Navigate to the Show Applications page and Submit the Application form and Show Fees.
Email your Certificate of Insurance (COI) to: battlefieldhorseshowassoc@gmail.com.
Email a copy of your Prize List to: battlefieldhorseshowassoc@gmail.com.
Show fees can be paid online. Show fees must be paid at least 30 days prior to the date of the show.
(*It is highly preferred for Show Managers to use the online application form. However, if mailing the 2026 Show Application form, please mail application packets to: P.O. Box 307, Catlett, VA 20119.)
Show Managers:
Please encourage exhibitors at your show to join BHSA online.
Making Show Changes:
Questions or show changes/cancellations can be sent to battlefieldhorseshowassoc@gmail.com
If you need to make changes and/or additions to your prize list you must notify the BHSA at least 30 days prior to the Show.
Shows can reschedule dates if cancelled due to an Act of God (severe weather, flooding, hurricanes, snow, ice, etc.)
All rescheduled dates must be pre-approved by the BHSA Board before shows can publish the makeup date.
Shows may not be rescheduled to a date that already has 4 or more shows scheduled.
Any rescheduled show cannot be closer than 25 miles to any other show already scheduled on the date requested.
Reporting Results:
Show managers have 14 days from the date of their show to send in the show results or a $50 fine will be imposed. (See Section 8 of the BHSA Rules.)
Results must be recorded on BHSA or VHSA Result Forms when submitted.
The preferred method of reporting show results is email.
How to use the updated Results Forms:
Click the link below to go to the new form. It will open in Google Sheets.
Click File > Download to download the results form to your own computer as an Excel file or save to your own Google Drive.
Open the points form you saved and enter your show results.
Fill in Cover sheets completely, listing any membership applications received at your show.
Save.
Email to BHSAPoints@gmail.com. (*Scan and attach membership applications to expedite the process.)
Mail in original membership applications and payments received.

If it is not possible for you to submit your points via email, you may still print the form and mail it to P.O. Box 307, Catlett, VA 20119.
