Arianna Cox Junior Sportsmanship Award
In memory of Arianna Cox, the BHSA offers a perpetual trophy to be presented to a junior
exhibitor who exemplifies good sportsmanship, integrity, honesty and adherence to the rules
throughout the show year. This award will be given to a BHSA junior
exhibitor each year based on conduct and character demonstrated during the show
season.
Key considerations for this award include the junior exhibitor’s conduct and
interaction with trainers, parents, show personnel, other exhibitors and animals.
The way a person handles success or defeat following a performance is a good
indication of sportsmanship. Integrity, honesty, empathy and adherence to the rules
are also prime considerations. This is the junior who may not always win, but who
works hard with a great attitude and congratulates others in their success.
BHSA members and parents of Junior members may nominate one BHSA junior member whom
they have observed demonstrating excellent sportsmanship. Please provide a
description of the sportsmanlike behavior observed for the Board’s consideration.
The award will be presented at the annual BHSA Year-End Awards Banquet.
