Before & After Classes: No pass needed. During class time, a teacher’s pass is required.
Sixth Form: Mon–Fri 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | No pass needed.
All patrons must follow library rules of acceptable behavior. Disruptive conduct may lead to warnings, loss of library privileges, or referral to administration.
No pass is needed during lunch.
Use each area responsibly — Open (games), Quiet (near desk), Study (cubicles), Multipurpose (groups), and Computer Bay (research/work).
If the alarm sounds when leaving, return to the circulation desk for checking.
All items must be properly issued — unauthorized removal of materials is a serious offense.
All borrowing and renewals are done at the circulation desk.
Items may be renewed twice. Reference books stay in the library; periodical copies can be made at the Business Centre.
Books: 1-week loan — o Lower School: up to Forms One & Two - 2 items, Forms Three to Five -3 items, Sixth Form (4 items).
Periodicals: Back issues 1 week; new issues in-library only.
AV materials: Overnight or weekend loans. Students are responsible for all borrowed items.
Late items incur a $1.00 per day fine.
Borrowing is suspended until overdue items are returned and fines paid.
Unpaid fines or very late returns may lead to further restrictions.
Lost or damaged books must be paid for before borrowing again.
Refunds are given if the book is later found.
Unpaid debts may be reported to the office or added to the student’s record.
Games are for library use only.
Enjoy educational, recreational, and strategy games during your free time.
Teachers may supervise game sessions during lunch in designated areas.
Permission required before use.
Sign up at the Circulation Desk (Lower School).
Research and academic use only — no games, chat, or media.
Two users per computer; 30-minute sessions at lunch.
No eating, gum, or drinks near computers.
Pass required during class time; stamp on arrival and exit.
Check in at the Circulation Desk.
Limit: 5 students per class unless accompanied by a teacher.
Teachers should indicate if computer use is needed.
B.A.H.S.E. and T.C.E. should not refer students during each other’s lunch period.
Your ID card is also your library card—present it at the Circulation Desk to borrow items.
Cardholders are responsible for all items borrowed under their name.
Cards must not be used by or for others.
Replacement cost for lost cards: $50.00 (payable at the Business Centre; receipt required).
After classes end, only authorized students or those sitting exams are allowed on the compound.
Students must wear full uniform and observe regular break times.
The library is not a holding area unless supervised.
Students with both AM & PM exams must remain in assigned classrooms.
To ensure that the Library Media Centre remains a productive and welcoming environment for all users, the following rules must be observed:
Food and Drinks
Eating and chewing gum are strictly prohibited in the library. Water may be consumed quietly. Please leave all food items on the designated bag shelf before entering.
Bags and Personal Items
All bags must be placed on the shelves provided. Personal belongings should not be left unattended, as the library cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
Patrons must not leave their bags or possessions in the library when they are not present.
Handling of Books and Materials
Do not re-shelve books after browsing. Please place any books or materials you have used on the book trolley provided for reshelving by library staff.
Appropriate Use of the Library
The library is designated for academic study, reading, and research. Behavior that disrupts this atmosphere will not be tolerated.
Computers are to be used strictly for academic and research purposes.
Care of Library Property
Any damage, defacement, or unauthorized removal of library materials constitutes a serious offense. Such incidents will be reported to the Principals or Head of Sixth Form and may result in disciplinary action, fines, or the replacement cost of the material.
Disciplinary Measures
The library reserves the right to suspend or exclude any user who breaches these regulations. Serious offenses will be referred to the Principals or Head of Sixth Form for further action.
