Maestrə Imigla Venture

This website serves as a chronicle and repository for my research and interests within the context of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and medieval re-creation in general.

This website is a reflection of my life, and as such it is in a constant state of updating, mutating, going dormant, waking up, failing, succeeding, and learning.

The material on this site largely focuses on the time period from 1350-1410, except when it doesn't. There is an emphasis on Italian culture of that time period, except when there's not.

About Me

I joined the SCA in 1993, when I was 17 years old. My first event was An Tir's May Crown Tournament XXVIII. Since that time I've been active in the Kingdoms of AEthelmearc (1996-1998), Middle (1998-2001), and Caid (2004-2006) before settling in the East. I served as the Baroness of Carolingia (Greater Boston Area) from 2012 to 2015, took a break, and was just starting to get back into it when COVID-19 shut down most SCA activities.

Though my persona is female, I am a non-binary human being and have a preference for the titles 'Baronex' and 'Maestrix' or 'Maestrə'. Others of either binary gender will work in a pinch.

A list of my awards, honors, and service can be found on the East Kingdom Wiki:

In honor of my 30 years in the SCA, I am seeking artists to commission for completing the Book of Vairavi, a scribal compilation of my SCA awards up through my induction into the Order of the Laurel.

Outside of the SCA I'm a museum professional, yardener, bird watcher, cat parent, live action role-player, and enemy of Capitalism and the Patriarchy.
