Reminders

Introduction

Reminders are created by you, to remind you when something is about to happen, or has happened. When the time comes, a "notification" is shown in the bottom corner of your computer screen.

Here is an example of the setup screen available in the Reminders page of the popup.

Event Types

Time of Day

  • Sunrise

  • Noon

  • Sunset

  • Midnight

Special Days

  • Day of Badí' month

  • Holy Days

Multiple Reminders can be set for each possible event.

Sample Reminders

If you have not yet added any Reminders, you have the option to click on a button to create some reminders to get you started. After clicking, you will have:

Additional Actions

In addition to showing a notification on your screen, each reminder can also do another action, from the list below.

1. Read Aloud

The reminder can be read aloud to you when it appears. You can select from any of the "voices" that are installed on your computer.

2. Trigger an IFTTT Recipe

The free "If This Then That" web service facilitates automation of a wide variety of actions. Your reminder can be a "Trigger" that starts a "Recipe". You can read more about IFTTT and sign up at the IFTTT website.

Some examples of what can be done:

      • Send an email or SMS message

      • Make a post to Facebook or send a Tweet

      • Turn on lights

      • Add a note to Evernote

      • and many more...

Remember, for an action to take place, your computer must on and Chrome must be open!

Once you have signed up for IFTTT, activate your private Maker Channel to get a Key. You will then input that Key when creating a Reminder in the Badí calendar extension, where the red arrow is pointing:

When you make a Recipe in IFTTT, select "Maker" for the Trigger channel. When asked for the Event Name, enter whatever name you wish to use. Be sure to use the same name in the Reminder and in the Recipe!

3. Run a Zapier Webhook

This works in a way similar to IFTTT. When creating your new Zap, select "Webhooks by Zapier"...

4. More?
