"Badíʿ Calendar Bot" for Facebook Messenger

Say "Hello" to the Badíʿ Calendar Bot in Facebook Messenger!

It knows what day it is today in the Badíʿ calendar, and is happy to share that with you if you ask for it!

Getting Started

  1. Find the bot and start a message. In Facebook messenger, start a conversation with "Badíʿ Calendar Bot". You can start by saying "hello"!

  1. Send the bot your location. Find and select the location icon to have Facebook Messenger send your location to the bot. Choose your location and hit Send! On your phone, you may need to look for the location icon. You may need to click on the "3-dots" icon to find it!

  1. The bot will receive the location and suggest what to do next. If you travel more than 50 km to a different location, sunset times might be different so be sure to send your location again so that the bot won't get confused!

Using the Bot

Now that the bot knows where in the world you are, you can ask it for the current date, or ask to be reminded of the date every day!

Here are some things you can say to the bot...

  • today

    • The bot will reply with today's date.

  • verse

    • The bot will send you the selected verse for the morning or evening from "Reciting the Verses of God". The verses in this book were collected and organized by Shahin Vafai & Dwight W. Allen, and published by the Bahá'í Publishing Trust of India. Printed copies of the book may be available via distributors in the UK and Australia.

  • help

    • The bot will list some of what it understands.

  • remind at ______

    • Here, you can tell the bot when to remind you of what day it is!

    • You can have as many reminders as you wish.

    • You can say 'sunset' or 'sunrise' or any time (using a 24-hour clock - examples: 8, 8:15, 16:30, 18, 21:30, etc.)

  • remind when

    • The bot will list the times when it plans to send you a reminder of the date!

  • clear reminders

    • The bot will clear all the reminders, and not send you any more.

  • sun times

    • The bot will tell you today's sunrise and sunset times in your area.

Privacy Policy

When you chat with "the Bot", Facebook will share your name with us, along with the four other things on your public profile. When you give us your location, we'll remember the coordinates and figure out what timezone you are in. The bot will keep a log of what you ask and what he has replied, so we can try to make him better in the future!
