Nov 12, 2018 – Erik Mollenhauer – “Tales from the WoodWideWeb: A Timeless Connection of People and Trees ”
We see trees as individuals. But that view is misleading. The truth is paradoxical. Like us, each tree is part of a social network, relying on the network for growth, health and success. The forest social network is largely invisible to us, but studies reveal a Wood Wide Web of relationships. The native people of North America, Europe and Asia saw members of the WWW as sacred gifts from the creator. Later, they were used to build empires and cartels... inspired revolutions and national conservation movements.
