101009 Trip report

A bird-filled morning greeted the participants on the 5th Annual Palmyra Challenge. Despite the rain and some wind, we found many small flocks of warblers even late into the morning. It was one of the best Palmyra birding field trips I have experienced. We encountered many Tennessee, Black-throated Green, Black-throated Blue, and several Connecticut warblers. A variety of Hawks were also seen and an immature Bald Eagle rounded out the raptor group. Many thanks to those who joined us in the field as well as to those who pledged money in support of the club. Thanks also go to Lloyd Shaw and his group whose sightings are included here as well.

Thanks,

Chris
