Aug. 10th, 2013 Butterfly Field Trip, Saturday, 9:30 am to 12:00 pm., (Joint trip with Gloucester County Nature Club) Leaders: Sandra Keller and Chris Herz

We will be visiting Marilyn Patterson's garden and adjoining Natural Lands Trust fields in Alloway Township, Salem County. Marilyn's garden is landscaped for wildlife with shrubs, perennials, and annuals. We will be looking for butterflies primarily, but will also take time to enjoy hummingbirds and other wildlife. While there are mowed paths, please note there are ticks and mosquitoes, so bug spray is essential. As parking is limited, please car pool if possible. Please bring binoculars, hat, bug spray, sunscreen, water, and lunch if you'd like (we’ll have lunch at the conclusion of the walk—if you have a packable chair, bring that also).

As this is a private garden, please RSVP to Chris Herz if you plan on attending. I would like to give an approximate count of participants coming.

Questions prior to the 10th: 856-546-5471 Chris' home; day of field trip, 856-534-5597, cell. Sandra Keller can also be reached on her cell - (856)383-2756.

Heavy rain will cancel the trip.

Directions to Marilyn's: Head south on Rt. 540 from Alloway. Check the NJ DeLorme - map 61 - J21. The driveway to Marilyn's house is extremely hidden. It is directly across from a sign that says "Ranch Hope". The sign will be on your right and Marilyn's driveway will be on your left. It's probably 2 miles or so from Alloway, but I am unsure of exact mileage. Pull into the driveway and head up to the parking spot near the house
