Subcommittees

Collection Development: The Subcommittee on Collection Development works on projects that are intended to facilitate and inform Slavic and Eurasian studies librarians' collection development work.

Copyright Issues: The Subcommittee on Copyright Issues originally formed as a working group within the AAASS Bibliography and Documentation Committee in April 2003.  It became an official subcommittee in June 2005.  The Subcommittee on Copyright Issues provides general support on copyright issues for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian materials being used in the United States by librarians, scholars, and educators. The Subcommittee on Copyright Issues serves as a resource for copyright information, promotes ongoing study of copyright developments, and provides non-legal assistance with copyright questions. If you have a copyright query, please contact Janice Pilch.  For questions about the work of the committee, feel free to contact any committee member.

Education & Access: The Subcommittee on Education and Access was formed in 2017 by merging the Subcommittee on Digital Projects and the Task Force on Education and Outreach.  The goal of the new subcommittee is to promote education about libraries, information resources, digital projects, cataloging, metadata curation, and information literacy among ASEEES members and the broader community of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian (SEEE) studies.

Slavic and East European Microform Project (SEEMP): The Subcommittee on SEEMP is a hybrid committee that a represents a partnership between ASEEES-CLIR and the Center for Research Libraries. Terms of appointment are set by CRL and run for two years. Terms begin and end (for the years indicated ) immediately following the annual business meeting during the ASEEES annual convention in November.
