Ceramics is probably one of the most beloved form of art for Japanese.

Enjoy the beauty of those Japanese ceramics like Kyoyaki made mainly in Edo period. Kyoyaki京焼き includes extremely famous and picturesque Ninsei仁清 wares which I love best.

Japanese ceramics are filled with rich and diverse beauty, ranging from the earthenware to the colorful Imari porcelain. Ceramics are best felt by the hands and touched by the mouth. It is probably a form of beauty that is the most intimate to our bodies and souls. In this exhibition, masterpieces from Raku, Karatsu, Shino, Oribe, Ko-Kutani and Kyoyaki wares will be featured, along with modern ceramics. We hope you will have a chance to stimulate your senses and to feel the splendor of this art form.
