Architect's comment:
-I hate fabulously shining house. Design a house of everlasting and as if after 100-year-long time history. (Client's comment)
In order to match such client's order, outer walled are all covered with Canadian cider thin-shakes finished with grey paint. The living was designed encircling a viewing window for the big chestnut tree. A wood stove was set beside the window in a eight-meter high open-ceiling space. The living gives various scenes throughout a year. After 12 years the appearance covered with shakes seemed settled even better than before.
The Nibariki whose name came after Mr. Miyazaki's favorite French automobile Peugeot Citroen 2 CV, mainly handles his copyright business.
The office originally registered to the Suginami ward moved to current location in June 1998.
