Das Seminar findet ab dem 15.10., jeden zweiten montag, 8-10 Uhr in SR1D statt.
Beschreibung:
In diesem Seminar sollen einige fundamentale, aber durchaus zugängliche Arbeiten zur geometrischen Gruppentheorie erarbeitet werden. Wir beginnen mit Stallings Arbeit 'Topology of finite graphs'. Danach folgt die Arbeit von Bestvina und Handel 'Train tracks and automorphisms of free groups', die zu einem Beweis der Scott-Vermutung führt.
Auch Mineyevs Arbeit 'Submultiplicativity and the Hanna Neumann Conjecture' und die Vereinfachung von Dicks sollen im Seminar besprochen werden.
