We have been trying since 2002 to obtain information about the horses in this Brigade which are so frequently mentioned by Frank West in his diary..It has been difficult.
The War Diaries kept by the vets of 48th Division include some information about South Midland Brigade horses (241 Brigade) to add to this site. But the search is still on for records at Brigade level.
The great polo player, Edward Miller was Frank West's mentor in Rugby. One of Miller's sisters was wife of Cecil Patteson Nickalls of this Brigade, another married Cecil's brother Patteson Nickalls.
