An energy saving offer for Leeds churches

4c Leeds (Christians Combating Climate Change Leeds) wants to help local churches to save money on their energy bills by installing energy efficiency measures. Initially, we are focusing on radiator foil.

Much of the heat from a radiator can get absorbed into the wall behind it rather than heating the room. Fitting reflective foil behind radiators is a very cheap and effective DIY measure, which can increase the useful output of a radiator by as much as 12%. By bulk buying, the price of the necessary materials can be brought down to around £3 per radiator. 4c Leeds would like to facilitate churches to take this step by:

• Bulk-buying the materials and selling them on to churches at cost price (or less depending on the financial circumstances of each church).
• Demonstrating, or undertaking, the fitting of the foil.
