• What variables are you investigating?

• Name these variables and describe what it is that they actually measure.

  • Some variables like "height" are self explanatory, others like "blood alcohol level" will need some explaining.

• Make sure you state the units that are used for each variable. For example, is height measured in mm, cm or m?

For this investigation you will also need to identify the explanatory (independent) and response (dependent) variables.

Sometimes this is straightforward, for example if Variable B is calculated using Variable A then we can say that Variable B is dependent on Variable A

(i.e Variable A is the independent variable and Variable B is the dependent variable).
